Professional Experience
Tahir have more than 15 years of working experience in the field of Instrumentation and controls at Oil and Gas and Petrochemical Plants. Currently Tahir is working as an Sr. Instrumentation and Control Specialist in BHP Billiton Petroleum Pakistan from last 9 years. BHP Billiton is Australian based multinational oil and Gas company working in 22 countries world wide and engaged in the business of exploration & production and producing gas from its Zamzama Gas Fields in Pakistan.
Tahir have been involved in Oil & Gas and Petrochemical plants maintenance, modifications, control system up gradations, erection and commissioning of new systems. Tahir's ongoing responsibilities are:
•Corrective / Preventive maintenance including calibration, installation, repairs and troubleshooting of Plant Instrumentation like Gas Chromatographs, Analyzers, Flow computers, Control Valves and plant other instrumentation.
•Using SAP (ERP) maintaining full service record/ History of all Instrumentation corrective and preventive maintenance work orders.
•Using SAP (ERP), ordering of critical Instrumentation spares as per allocated budget.
•Work scope includes all Instrument & Control systems, such as Process Control Instrumentation, DCS & PLC control system, Gas turbine & compressors control system
•Assists Maintenance Manager in development and implementation of instrumentation related procedures to ensure operational efficiency of the DCS & ESD systems and other control system related to process.
•Development and implementation of preventive maintenance plans for all instrumentation equipment to ensure operational effectiveness.
•Maintenance of DCS and PLC systems and Troubleshooting I/O card, Processor problems etc.
Eductation
• Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunication Technology from Preston Institute of Management Science and Technology Karachi Pakistan.
• Diploma in Industrial Instrumentation from Petroman Institute Karachi.
Certification
• DeltaV safety Instrumented system
