Position – Pipe Operative
Responsibilities include:
• Prepare drilling equipment prior to its use and maintain it whilst it is storage.
• Make up the BHA (Bottom Hole Assembly) and run it into the hole.
• Pull out of hole the BHA, break out and lay down.
• Installation and removal of BOP, and wellhead equipment
• Prepare for rig skidding, assist in rig skidding
• Assist in area inspections.
• Ensure the overall cleanliness of the rig and its equipment
• Manipulate sections of pipe or drill stem at the rig floor during drilling and during the removal and replacement of strings of pipe or drill stem and drill bit
• Assist the other crew members in the maintenance and repair of the rig equipment
• Assist in laying casing into a well after it has been drilled
• Handle, sort and move drill tools, pipe and other materials
