To work to the best of my ability

• To call for all NDT testing and perform NDT when necessary;
• To make reports and interpret drawings;
• To asses tested welds to code and pass or reject according to WPS;
• To monitor welding / do surveillance on most welded joints as possible and make sure welds are been welded with a sound quality;
• To make sure welders tests are been done under correct supervision and in accordance with the correct welder qualification test;
• To interpret isometric drawings and assist pipefitters and welders where necessary
• To inspect painting and insulation from sub-contractors
• To oversee hydro pressure tests and make sure all testing is done in accordance with pressure testing requirements and specifications
• Implement ISO 9001 : Quality Management System and make sure the system is been strictly adhered to
• To implement and work to the AWS D1.1 Structural steel code
• To carry out inspection and test plan (ITPs) on pressurised equipment in the boilers and turbines.
• Ensure that the requirements for all weld, welder and welding activities are correctly specified and carried out in accordance with the relevant codes, client specifications and contract standards
• Checking the material identification before fit up is in accordance with the drawing/wps and can be traced to a mill certificate, and free from damage and contamination
• Ensuring WPS’s have been approved and are available to welder and welding inspectors
• Check that welding equipment is in suitable condition and calibrated as appropriate
• Check that welding consumables to be stored and controlled as specified by the QC procedures
• Ensure weld faces are free from defects, contamination and damage
• Check the validity of welders and their identification that qualified for each WPS to be used
• Ensure that min temperature of preheat is in accordance with WPS if required
• Check the welding jobs preparation such as fit ups are in accordance with WPS and Drawings
• To work in accordance with API 650(code for storage tanks)
• To work with precision measuring instruments on tanks such as smart levels to measure complete accuracy on flanges and other fittings on fabricated tanks
