I Have TWO Years experience in the oil and gas field in raj petrofac ltd. process flow. crude is evaluated by std procedure for comlex informations of various physical and chemical properties like density sp gravity kin viscosity water content salt content pour content sulpur conytent etc.oil is passed through a desalting chamber across which a potential of 16000 to 32000 volts is applied to cause rapid coalescene of the emulsion droplets. now salt content reduced upto 90% with in twenty mints . after desalting crude oil throuh into heat exchanger. heat gains from atmosheric distillilation unit. the heat exchange of shell and tubewith hot fluid passing through shell sideand crude oil heated passing counter currently through the tube side. heated crude is then passed into tubalar furnace callled pipe stil furnace . products from ADU are gases, light distillates middle disstillates lubricating oils and catalytic cracking,bottom pdt may be used as bitumen.crude oil enters at 350 degree .
