Operations Engineer

A young and enthusiastic individual committed to a career in the Oil & Gas Industry with a desire to learn and develop himself both in my personal and professional life with an overseas position.

Production Supervisor on Balmoral FPV responsible for directing and coordinating the daily activities of the production team, supporting the delivery of health, safety and environmental standards and technical integrity standards. Also required to give project management support to vendors who are commissioning brown field equipment. Authorised permit controller on board the installation and responsible for the safe issue and control of all permits.

Offshore company project manager for gas compressor commissioning responsible for aligning the offshore construction teams, producing risk assessments monitoring and controlling the project to complete the job safely. Also responsible for procedural compliance and sign off for any deviations from normal operations, writing of operational risk assessments and procedures for all production operations onboard the installation. Offshore focal point for engineering change requests, audits, shutdown planning and process improvements with regards to produced water cleanliness and gas lift conditioning.

Onshore role involves participation in the Balmoral Improvement Project. Main responsibilities include updating of offshore training manual following update of all operational procedures, close out of HAZOP actions, ensuring regulatory compliance with the HSE and DECC and writing of shutdown flushing and purging procedures.

Employed as a production engineer after gaining promotion from graduate role. Reporting directly to the operations manager within a small onshore operations support team, I was involved in a wide range of aspects related to the business. Mainly involved in facility efficiency for which I developed spreadsheets to closely monitor the efficiency of two FPSOs and advise on system improvements to increase efficiency. Also developer and lead of an Availability and Uptime Improvement campaign designed to improve efficiency and plant optimisation. Held the position of lead production engineer position for a period of 3 months.

BEng in chemical engineer and in final year of project management masters degree.
