I am apprentice trained welder/fabricator. I have over 30 years’ experience working in the oil and gas industry both on and offshore. I am multi coded pipe welder to ASME 1X, API-1104, BS, and AWS codes welding to 6g 5g and 6gr procedures
I have experience working on overland pipelines, offshore installations, onshore fabrication yards, gas terminals, oil refineries, nuclear power station; gas fired power stations, oil from coal plant and bridge construction. The majority of my contracts have been in Europe and Africa.

primary and high school education

During my career I have gained experience in supervision both on and offshore, also as a welding instructor. I would describe myself as dedicated to the job in hand; I work well within a team or independently with a very much hands on approach. I have good communication skills with welding crews. I believe these are some of my attributes to motivate my work force.
My previous position was welding supervisor in South Africa. The following was part of my main duties.
To check and record welding parameters and verify compliance with approved welding procedures (wps) and technical procedures. To interview and select welders and verify qualifications of welders for project requirements.
To monitor welder performance and there repair rates, in accordance with job quality requirements. To conduct the training of welders for new techniques.
To check inspect and test incoming welding materials and ensure they meet job quality specifications.

Organizing welding crews to maintain continues production that meets company deadlines. To monitor Welding equipment, consumables and make requisitions when necessary. Working closely with the project engineer to
Ensure engineering plans are adhered to.
Maintain standards of safety to comply with company’s health and safety, and environment management system requirements.
