Professional Experience
Operations Manager delivering Bulk Fuel capability in short notice and limited resources environment in the United Kingdom.
Providing Subject Matter Expertise to both internal senior management and external military units in petroleum matters.
Manage the preparation of the unit’s technical petroleum equipment for external inspections to both military and civilian standards & regulations. This amounted to in the region of £3Mil worth of equipment
Plan and coordinate the pre-deployment training for unit personnel deploying to overseas operational tours.
Stand-in for the Senior Manager of a military team of 70 soldiers for a period of 4 months, including writing 6 monthly and annual reports on each.
Provide in-unit training for soldiers prior to attending trade courses for both promotion and increased earnings.
Deliver presentations to external agencies on the capability of a Petroleum Operations Unit.
Deployed to Afghanistan on two separate occasions for a total of twelve months to manage the bulk fuel requirements for a military force of 9500 personnel.
Carried out auditing process on the civilian contractor Supreme Fuel Services on the operation of the Bulk Fuel Installation in both ground and aviation fuels.
Received British Army Commanders Commendation for Fuel Operations in Afghanistan.
Technical team leader and operations manager for a multi-disciplined civilian team of 30 personnel, including all aspects of training, welfare, development and the operation of the British Army’s only permanent Bulk Fuel Installation holding in excess of 5 million litres of ground fuel.
Manage the whole filling process of packed fuel requirements for Army, Navy and Air Force, meeting all targets in both time and quantity, sometimes at short notice. Responsible for approx £5.2Mil worth of Jerrican holdings
Establish a new requirement of a pollution response team from within the workforce as dictated by the Environment Agency in direct response to legacy issues that had not been dealt with prior to his tenure.
Responsible for ensuring that all depot staff, comply with the HASAW Act, MOD Health and Safety Policy and current legislation including COSHH.
Devised, planned and produced 5 different training courses.
Responsible for providing SME input in the development and trialling of the Army's new Fuel Tanker as part of a £4Bn procurement project.
