Measurement Technician

Oil and Gas Measurement Positions.

As a measurement Technician I am responsible for the calibration, assembly, and maintenance of all equipment at high volume meter stations as well as the balancing and L&U of all pipeline segments in my area. I assure that all of my equipment is tested within the company I&M schedule in compliance with regulatory bodies. I am experienced with orifice meters, auto-adjust turbine meters, rotary meters, Daniels Mark III ultrasonic meters, Instromet ultrasonic meters, and Sick Mahaik four plus one path ultrasonic meters. My responsibilities have also included, calibration of O2 analyzers, Delmar H2S analyzers, Spectra sensor H2O analyzers, Daniels gas chromatographs, ABB 8100 gas chromatographs, Rosemount transmitters, setting Fisher Regulators, calibration and maintenance of Becker control valves, fisher control valves, setting relief valves, configuring and installing the Bristol Control Wave Micro, the Fisher ROC, and the communication thereof. I serve as a Technician in Colorado, Wyoming, and Nebraska. I am also responsible for reviewing data and the accuracy of gas measurement calculations at my meter stations. My experience includes radio, satellite, Ethernet, and cellular communications with SCADA. Additional duties include being appointed area safety contact, responsible for the dissemination of safety related information via safety meeting on a monthly basis. I have developed and delivered classes on Kinder Morgan's Ultrasonic Meter Health Program to the entire South Region, and to employees within the Rocky Mountain Region. I frequently review drawings related to new meter station construction within the region. I also review Measurement O&M procedures, submitting corrections to the corporate measurement department for final review and implementation.

During my time as an Operations Specialist I was responsible for locating pipeline, supervising third party activity assuring these activities were in compliance with company O&M procedures, on my assigned pipeline segments. I also maintained mainline pneumatic line breaks, conducted leak patrols, valve inspections, installed test leads, attended Damage Prevention meetings, and became proficient in utilizing the One Call system.

As a contractor in support of Joint Service Training at Fort Carson I was responsible for training Department of Defense service members, which are deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. Primary functions as an instructor were teaching the following courses: troop leading procedures, reaction to ambushes during dry and live fire convoy operations, the operation of military radios and lightweight GPS systems, gas chamber operations, as well as, preventative maintenance and services on diesel engines. Additionally, I was required to conduct after action reviews following practical exercises. I provided technical and tactical expertise to my committee chief and utilized the teach, coach, mentor method when interacting with the customer.
