Control Systems and Instrumentation Engineer - Experience in New Zealand and India

Currently working as a Instrumentation and Control Systems Engineer for Engineering Control Limited(ECL) ,New Plymouth,New Zealand,since January 7th 2013.


Job Description :
• Work in a Team of 4 for migration of Honeywell DCS(TDC controller,LEPIU and HLPIU) to C300 Controller for the Waitara Valley Restart Project , Methanex.
• Configuration and Code migration from SOPL(structured text language) to function blocks Programming on Honeywell Experion R311.2.
• Planning and rewiring of control cables from field into the Process Control Room.
• Planning and Purchasing parts as required by the project for Instrument/Electrical replacements.
• Running FAT and Commissioning of Control Loops.
• Installation and commissioning of the Wireless Transmitters,FDAP’s and WDM’s for supporting the Fault Tolerant Ethernet(FTE) network in the Honeywell DCS.
• Installation and commissioning of cabinets , barriers , control cables and control loops.

Worked as a Development and Instrumentation Engineer for Geologging Industries Ltd from December 1st 2011 to August 31st 2012 for mudloggging services in the OIL and GAS upstream industry.

Job Description :
• Work in a Team of 4 for Development and testing of Software Applications built on VB 6.0 and C# for Control and Data Acquisition using MODICON PLC over Ethernet and Serial communications(RS-232 and RS485),used for Datalogging and Control services for mudlogging services in the OIL and GAS upstream industry.
• Instrumentation and calibration of sensors used for temperature,pressure,conductivity, weight,angular displacement,Inductive Proximity Sensing,Ultra Sonic Level Sensing and flow measurements.


Worked as an Production Engineer for TCSJOHNHUXLEY,Stoke-on-Trent,UK from June 16th 2009 to November 5th 2010.

Job Description :
• Experience working with Siemens S7-300.
• The analysis and assessment of inspection data to develop Fault Codes,pareto for continued improvement activities and the structure for a sustainable analysis process.
• Test development to reduce process time of key feature testing(six sigma certified) and it’s implementation using C#.
• Test development to create a ‘fool proof’ functional test process and it’s implementation using C#.
• To aid with the implementation of CE Self Certification.

Qualifications :

• Completed Masters(MS) in Control and Electronics with a ‘Merit’ from the Teesside University, Middlesbrough, UK in June 2009.
• Completed Bachelors in Electrical & Electronics Engineering(B.Eng) from JNTU, Hyderabad, India.
