Leaving the Royal Navy in Sept/oct, I would like to continue my engineering
career within the oil&gas, ROV, or Renewable industries.
Professional Experience
Leading Marine engineering technician working accross different ships including Type 23 frigate (propulsion consists of combined electric & gas turbines) & Type 42 destroyers (using gas turbines & Control pitch propellor).
Trained & worked on electrical, Mechanical, electronic, hydraulic and all systems & equipment assosiated with ships operations.
Below are the following systems:
Diesel Generators.
Forced Lubrication Gearboxes and Systems.
Gas Turbines.
Converter Regulators.
Fuel Transferring.
Main Electrical Power & Distribution System.
Gearbox.
Main shafting.
Reverse Osmosis plants.
Fresh water management.
Cooling Water Systems.
High pressure salt water system.
Chilled water systems & air conditioning.

Hydraulic steering & stabiliser systems.

Condition Based Monitoring including Vibration Analysis,lubricating Oil Testing, diesel & aviation fuel testing.

Working unsupervised & to tight deadlines, using equipment manuals, technical documentation & stores references to rectify equipment safely.
Provide a continuous availability of equipment & systems to senior & executive management by maintenance management, monitoring equipment, defects, fault diagnosis & test/trials on equipment.
Fully competent with unit maintenance management system & all aspects of condition based monitoring. Delegating & carry out maintenance to a high standard efficiently.
Committed & trained to work within Naval & Government guidelines in all aspects of health and environmental safety. Inc Personal protective equipment, Permit to work, Tag-out’s & control of substances hazardous to health.
Fully competent with a range of electrical testing equipment & training junior personnel to ensure safe systems of work are adhered to.
Trained in CBRNDC - fire fighting, damage control & chemical environments to a high standard. Inc fire & flood Incident Control Manager.
Switchboard Operator - correctly & safely distribute electrical power, controlling diesel generators in normal & emergency environments.
