Big-4 Chartered Accountant (Deputy Head of Internal Audit)

I am a big-4 Qualified CA having a total of 9 years working experience including 5 years of working as Audit Team leader at National Refinery Limied. My objective is to acquire a challenging management position in a progressive organization.

1- National Refinery Limited – a Member of Attock Oil Group
(July 2009 to date)
Currently working as Deputy Head of Internal Audit (Senior Management Executive) of the largest refinery complex of Pakistan. A brief of major responsibilities are presented below:
· Adopting risk-based audit methodology in preparation of annual audit plan for its approval from Audit Committee;
· Plan audit engagements and special assignments to ensure that adequate resources are in place for performing effective audit engagements/special assignments.
· Lead all the financial and operational (internal) audit teams and review their work for conclusion of audits;
· Develop and ensure constant improvements in the Audit Programs to align them with the global best practices of Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA);
· Preparation and composition of audit reports/memos;
· Communicating audit findings and recommendations of audits through [Internal] audit reports to the concerned department, management and board of directors;
· Follow up of implementation of audit recommendations with the departments in a timely manner;
· Leading Consultation/special assignments/fraud investigation as and when directed by the Audit Committee;
· Preparation of Audit Committee working papers, and preparation of ‘presentation of audit performance during the quarter’;
· Conducting in-house training sessions, mentoring sub-ordinates and providing them constant support to enhance their internal auditing skills.
· Managing correspondence with the Commercial Audit/ Ministry and to provide their requisite information/ supporting documents in respect of prior years’ Audit paras for their settlement.

(October 2005 to July 2009)

Completed three and a half year mandatory training as Trainee Student, prescribed by the byelaws of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan, in Audit & Business Advisory Services (ABAS).
Working with A. F. Ferguson & Co. (ABAS) I was responsible for all facets of audit and related engagements assigned, from initial planning to the conclusion of examination and reporting thereon.
