I was responsible for Tender assessment, technical/commercial review of the purchase requirements of the clients, sending enquiries to local and international suppliers, preparing comparative statements and preparing competitive and cost effective, technical tenders to suit the client requirements, preparation of purchase orders, negotiate payment terms and the mode of payment like cash/credit/LC and finalize the shipping arrangements. My tenders were usually in the range of 300-600,000 US $.
A brief description of my areas of expertise is mentioned below.
 
A. Electrical and Electronic items like Generators (from 2.5 kva to 2 mega watt), Transformers, pumps, Electrical Cables, Fire resistant cables, Earthing cables, Accessories like LT/HT panels, relays, sensors, CB's, RCB's, ELCB's, timers, pressure switches, distribution boards, contactors etc, Synchronizing panels for the generators, electrical lighting poles, lighting accessories, light fittings, lights, conduits, etc, complete earthing requirements including cables and earth pits, Antennas, RF attenuators, audio connectors, Power strips.
 
B. Mechanical items like Air conditioners, Air compressors, fire extinguishers/alarms, RO systems, water purification chemicals, Industrial fans, petrol pumping stations,
Booster pumps, pressure vessels etc,.
 
C. Domestic items like solar water heaters, water heaters and television set whose quantities were in the range of 500 to 1000 units.
 
D. Computers and computer accessories like printers, hardware/software.
 
E. Stationery items.
 
F. I was also proficient in sourcing spare parts for generators, air conditioners, vehicles, Compressors, various mechanical tools/gauges/switches.
 
G. My other strengths were in sourcing special / client specific products, to name a few - vandalizing mesh for lights of electrical poles, Bullet proof vests/jackets/vehicles,portable toilets, cleaning chemicals,refrigerated containers & spare parts,and many more such items.
 
On receipt of a confirmed order from the client, prepare purchase orders and procure the material. My suppliers were from the local market, Europe and the US.
