Job Description:
Operates within the terminal area which includes tank farm, pump station, cargo motor tank gantry, pig catcher station, jetty, and oil/ water separator. Fire pump station, additive injection area, air/ nitrogen/ water utilities and all equipments within these areas by manual and/ or instrument control under the direction of the Senior Operator.
Principal Functions:
Responsible for performing operational functions within the assigned area in accordance with the established procedures in a safe, efficient and economical manner.
Responsible for day and night shift duties.
Carry out marine loading arms operations, jetty loading/ unloading, pigging and sampling, and routine oil movement operational work.
Loading and unloading/decanting cargo motor tank vehicles.
Operates pump, air compressors/ nitrogen generator, gantry cranes, fire water/ foam system, oil/ water separator, sets lines/ manifolds/ telescopic tubes/ sets valves/ blinds/ changes filters, and maintains sump levels.
Responsible for monitoring pump station/ jetty station/ tank farm area and physical lines preparation, rigging telescopic tubes to headers.
Takes record gauge, density, and temperature for both opening and closing activities of designated tanks.
Perform atmospheric gas testing/ weekly testing of fire pumps and monthly inspection of fire boxes.
Perform monthly tools/ tank farm inventory and any other reasonable duties as requested.
Takes tank sample before and after receipt of products for the required quality test.
Takes manual measurements of tank stocks, draws samples, delivers samples to/ disposes of samples from the laboratory, vents/ drains lines, drains water from tanks and tank roofs.
Checks equipment/ areas to ensure ordered temperatures/ pressures/ levels rates and other operational variables are maintained, and that equipment is effectively utilized.
Carries out gPreventive Maintenanceh, painting and other work as required for upkeep and general housekeeping.
An active member of the Terminal Fire Fighting/ Emergency Response Team, the Operator will be conversant with effective utilization of all related equipment.
Keeps the Senior Operator fully informed at all times.
Follow safe operating practices, complies with all safety, environment and fire prevention rules and procedures.
