My work experience as a quantity surveyor started at a Consultant Quantity Surveying firm (Walker Cotter Ltd) based in Birmingham UK in 2008 for one year and since 2011 continues at Zemco Construction Ltd. Zemco Construction Ltd a class “A” contractor based in Cyprus that constructs sophisticated and complex buildings and also major civil engineering projects.
I am a confident person, highly adaptable who works thoroughly and methodically, a person that can contribute in team-work, and have a good collaboration, as successfully manage to have in my current work. I am self-motivated; have the ability to negotiate at all levels, very confident in handling new and difficult tasks; and also being able to work under pressure with strict deadlines. I currently have a reputation of being highly-organized; completing my work fast, effectively, efficiently and in a high standard.
I have an excellent knowledge of Fidic 1999 and other Contracts and I am good in analysing critical issues, claims, assessments of variations, final accounts etc., especially in the area of Ground-Works, Pipeline Construction and Concrete Frame Structures which I have been specialized in.
The experience I have gained in this role is invaluable and has afforded me an excellent understanding of the construction sector and particularly an excellent experience in civil works. Since 2011 I have been involved in Civil Engineering Projects (i.e. Construction of Sewerage and Drainage Systems) and have been supervising and managing as a Quantity Surveyor, 3 major Projects of total Cost of € 28 millions. I have also worked for 6 months in the tendering department of the company and gained a very good knowledge of the preparation of the tender documents, take offs, preparation of Bill of Quantities and Subcontractor Agreements etc.
