Safety Officer / (PTW) Permit to Work Coordinator

To ensure that proper consideration is given to the risks of a particular job, including potential impact to/from simultaneous activities

Develops, implements, and manages the Company's injury/illness Prevention Program and directs and coordinates the participation of departments such as;

• Conducts regular safety audits including the inspection of facilities, worksites, equipment, work practices, and safety devices to ensure compliance with required workplace safety standards, regulations, and company policy;
• Perform full time and continuous safety coverage / monitoring / patrol at work sites to ensure continuing safety compliance of work force.
• Conducts investigations of Authority accidents/incidents and produces final reports of investigations.
• Develops intervention strategies to resolve identified unsafe acts and conditions observed in the work place
• Maintaining safety at the site, safety orientation for both new and existing employees, regarding safety regulations;
• Reports findings to department and recommends changes to establish safe work conditions in order to address the potential imminent hazards; monitors changes and/or makes follow-up inspections.
• Coordinates, plans, and implements the actions and recommendations for any safety rules/regulations.
• Provides technical assistance and advice on safety rules implementations;
• Monitors compliance with applicable laws, policies, procedures, regulations;
• Conducts / evaluates Job Safety Analysis and enforce pertinent established measures with line management
• Meets regularly with Company Managers to ensure appropriate action is taken in compliance with Company safety policies to correct hazardous conditions;
• Reports directly to the head of the department
• Assist the Site Safety Manager / Supervisor in the overall implementation of the company approved project-specific safety, health & environment program and related activities.
• Coordinate for safety, health, and environmental issues with Company's counterpart in the field that concern or affect day-to-day operation.
• Ensure, in the event of real plant emergencies, to readily act, instruct and guide the work force into the pre-designated muster point / safe assembly areas.
