Assist in monitoring plant environmental/safety/health regulations to assure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding air, water and solid wastes, as well as, OSHA safety and health requirements.
Operate and maintain a water treatment plant, consisting of ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis, and EDI for the production of demineralized water for power plant processes.
Provide chemical protection to the boiler, turbine, and related auxiliary equipment by minimizing corrosion and water side deposits in steam cycle components.
Maintain proper water chemistry limits in the boiler, and cooling water chemistry cycle by collecting and performing analytical analysis of boiler water samples and taking any necessary corrective actions.
Evaluate problems, write necessary work orders, oversee or perform the work required to water treatment plant and water chemistry system equipment.
Manage laboratory and bulk chemicals by maintaining inventory and writing purchase requisitions for supplies.
Perform calibrations, maintenance, and maintain laboratory and environmental instrumentation to ensure accuracy.
