• Manage staff resourcing of the discipline, manage all IT activities related to PC’s / Movable virtual reality system and Unix environments. • Manage subsurface technical software and hardware

• PE/IT technical professional with an excellent understanding of IT and the requirements of PE business, experience with many geosciences techniques, computer languages and system management techniques.
• Ensure systems backup policy is adhered and critical data is secured.
• Knowledge of IT risks management.
• Responsible for the maintenance and support of a large Geosciences Unix platforms.
• Setting up Virtual Reality Centre.
• Good knowledge of PL/SQL.

• Contracts (excellent knowledge of contract management and preparation)
• Budget holder and budget focal point. Monitoring actual spending against Budget. Provide VOWD information for accrual purposes.
• Control the actual expenditure and commitments and follow up the variances between actual and budget.
• Analysing / solving system problems.
• To ensure that software and hardware used for applications is covered by sanction free licenses.
• Develop adequate fall-back and contingency arrangements for critical business processes and services.
• Apply latest techniques, standards, methods and procedures with the aim to maximise the efficiency of IT resources and to minimise maintenance cost exposure.
• Participate in technical audits and advise Business Continuity Committee
• Ensure high HSE standards are maintained

• Bsc. in Electronic Engineering. Damascus University 1990
• Various accredited training courses in:
o Computing
o Unix platforms (Solaris, AIX, Irix, Linux)
o PC platforms
o Virtual Reality systems
o Data management (incl. security and storage)

o Various Petroleum Engineering applications
