Professional Experience
I am a CIPD and Masters qualified HR professional and manager with extensive experience working operationally and strategically across a diverse range of industries in the UK, Middle East, Latin America and Asia. As a trusted and credible business partner to senior management, I have provided HR expertise in respect of people and organizational development strategy, policy and process in dynamic business units, ensuring that corporate objectives and budgets are met, while problem-solving and identifying new opportunities.
I have an extensive track record of planning and implementing business development and expansion strategies in complex, multi-cultural commercial environments. I have delivered effective HR solutions targeted at improving organizational performance and have the proven ability to build leadership and management capability, take forward change and talent management and develop performance management frameworks. In this latter regard, I have led cultural change initiatives aimed at developing dynamic capability, change resilience as well as employee engagement through the effective management of employee relations and well-being.
I have recently completed a CIPD-accredited, full-time M.Sc. in HRM, which additionally comprised work placement within HR and Organizational Development at Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board. In this role, I carried out research into change-management processes with respect to an organisation-wide, HRIS business transformation project.
Previously, as Head of HR in Abu Dhabi for an international educational provider, I designed & developed a regional MENA HR function and strategy. Here, in support of an international/local team of 300+ staff, I embedded HR best practice, delivered customer focused HR shared and business partnering services, optimized business outcomes and ensured compliance with local commercial and employment legislation.
As an experienced manager of multinational and multidisciplinary teams of staff, my work has required excellent organizational, interpersonal and analytical skills. These are supported by extensive practitioner experience in areas of influencing & negotiating, where for example, I have established new relationships, partnerships and networks involving private sector, government and civil society organisations.
