Professional Experience
The first project handled here was ‘Francis Turbine’, which involves converting the high pressure head into Kinetic Energy
Accomplishments
• Design a water turbine called Francis turbine. The geometry was designed using CATIA.
• Mesh was done in such a way to optimize the number of elements using Hypermesh.
• Optimisation of blade rotation speed to determine minimum head loss of the whole process.
The second project is ‘International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor’. Here detection of leakage of helium inside the plasma has been analysed. The project involves usage of Bird’s Code for Monte Carlo Simulation. The software’s used are DS3V, PI-DSMC, techplot, vIsitetc
Accomplishments
• Model the entire geometry of the ITER CRYOSTAT using CATIA V5 according to requirement of the project.
• Devised a strategy and designed the controllers to detect the leakage of helium outside the plasmic membrane.
• Analysis of various leakage data and molecular distribution with respect to temperature.
The third project isCITEPH34 (GDF-SUEZ) which involves flow of supercritical CO2 inside a 50 km long pipe.
Accomplishments
• Using NIST data with linear interpolation between two temperatures as equation of state and validate the results with the experimental one.
• Pioneer among the Fluidyn employees to tackle one dimensional fluid flow problem
• Able to handle large amount of data and process using Microsoft(VBA).
The fourth project is ELBOW MIX BEND, where the fluids at two different temperatures from two different pipes mix.
Accomplishments
• Design the whole process using CAD, HYPERMESH, and analyse the results at the outlet.
• Optimize the inlet temperatures and velocities to establish correct fluid outlet temperature.
