Micropaleontology & Biostratigrapher

To work as an Experienced senior Stratigrapher/ Micropaleontologist (foraminifera)assisting in basin evolution to generate chronostratigraphic frameworks, subsurface correlation in Mesozoic and Tertiary Carbonate and clastics.

Ph.D. in Jurassic biostratigraphy and more than 27years experience in the specialized areas of petroleum exploration mainly as a stratigrapher and micropalaeontologist. Ample knowledge of Micropalaeontology (foraminifera, identified in both washed residues and thin sections) for age , biozones , paleoenvironmental analysis from Mesozoic and Tertiary marine successions. Operational micropalaeontology at the well-site to determine lithostratigraphy and support operational decisions to lower risks in exploratory / production wells. Experience in integration of micropaleontological data with Source rock geochemistry, Well logs, Palynology and Sedimentology to carry out and/or improved well and inter-basin correlations, independently of lateral facies changes. Demarcation of age boundaries, identification of hiatus / Maximum Flooding Surface / condensed sections in wells (using foraminifera) for Sequence Stratigraphic analysis. Worked in more than 70 sponsored research projects on behalf of ONGC, India on integrated biostratigraphic problems in Exploration and development areas of major Indian basins.Published and presented several technical work in national and international conferences. For more than a decade worked as mentor of Graduate Students in different specialised areas of Petroleum Exploration and application of micropaleontology. Worked independently as well as a team member . At present working as Head of Geology Department in Adama Science & Technology University , Ethiopia. Fluent in English and in two Indian languages ( Bengali and Hindi).Proficient in Microsoft Professional Office and Corel Draw programs.
