Provide technical support in instrumentation issues for the utilities plants in the Cardon Refinery.
Review and implement best maintenance practices.
Participate in technical inspection to verify the integrity of the instrument and automation equipment, before a maintenance work and/or after a fault.
Participate in tests to determine the real conditions in equipment where a visual inspections is not enough.
Certify maintenance executions according with the procedures and conduct final acceptance test to ensure the maintenance work quality.
Identify, specify and select new equipment (Instruments, Analyzers, DCS, PLC´s, Fire & Gas) to replace an obsolete one, when is absolutely required.
New technologies evaluation.
Evaluation of ESD of the different plants for Cardon Refinery.
Use of SAP for making maintenance notices, creation of technical locations, equipments and spare parts lists.
Certify periodic tests of ESD (sensors, logic solver and final control element).
Specifications, approval for detail engineer, approval for mechanical catalogs, FAT, SAT and QA/QC for Automation equipments in Project Increment in production of Lubricants Complex (2011-2013).
QA/QC and SAT for Automation equipments in Project Increment in production of catalythical unit and connex plants (2009).
Root-Cause analysis for failures

Intrumentation and Control Engineer with more than 10 years of relevant experience in the Venezuelan oil and steel industry, working in one of the world’s largest oil refining complex, providing technical assistance to the operations, maintenance and projects staff in issues like specifications of PLC, Distributed Control Systems, Analyzers, ESD´s, maintenance plans, assignment of spare parts in SAP for equipments, elaboration of technical recommendations for failures and all that is required from the automation, control and instrument point of view to allow safe and reliable operation of the refining plants.
Additionally to common activities from 2011 to 2013, a special assignment was accorded as an Engineering In Acceptance and Startup in the Project Increment in production of Lubricants Complex, to be responsible of approval of the Detailed Engineering and support the construction during maintenance and construction.
During all these years, I have been working, from different role, in a team committed with reliability and safety of the automation devices, providing support 24 hour, 7 days a week, working under pressure when has been necessary, in a fast paced environment, taking decisions in critical moments, always conscious that the automation is vital for the refining process.
