 Responsible for Monitoring, Inspecting and Recording all related data Before, During and After Welding.


BEFORE WELDING

Verify – Approved WPS
Qualified Welders List
Verify – Material Certificates
Welding Consumables Certificates
Check – Check condition of welding equipment, measuring tools and their
calibration certificates
Check – Cutting, machining and marking of materials and refer back to
procedures and drawings to ensure compliance
Check – Joint preparation, fit up and tack welding is in accordance with
Drawingsand approved WPS
Check – Availability and adequacy of all weather protections

DURING WELDING
Check – Working welders against welders register. Welding Parameter.
Check – Approved WPS essential variables are in place:
- Preheat and method
- Welding consumables and worksite storage
- Current, voltage, travel speed and polarity
- Min. and Max. interpass temperature
-Interpass cleaning and method
Check –Work environment safety


AFTER WELDING

• Perfom and record notes on visual inspection
• Assess NDT result
• Check and monitor repair methods against repair procedures
• Check time lapse between weld completion and NDT is correct
• Check PWHT requirements are carried out
• Compare inspection records / reports, check they are signed and approved
by relevant parties prior to release of the structure
