wireline trainee

To secure a position in Oil and Gas industry preferable in the downhole tools, wireline and the coil tubing side of operations and services as this was the area i was very interested in and an area i had great deal exposure to.

I was recruited on a local hire contract as a trainee well test operator. Completed a 3 month probation period in the yard in Doha, Qatar. After my initial introduction to the equipment used to well test i completed my HS&E training and started a 56/28 day rotation on a jack-up work over barge offshore as an assistant well tester. My responsibility was to learn and understand how to flow and controlled newly completed oil wells as well as preform maintenance, pressure testing and clean up’s of newly completed wells preparing them for pumping to production stations under the control of Occidental and Maersk contracts.

 Successfully completed extensive HS&E and BOSIET training.
 Attained a good understanding of the maintenance of equipment for well testing (3 phase separators, Choke manifolds, burners & booms and high pressure piping).
 Responsible for pre-job preparation of equipment needed for each job and co-ordinating with my superiors on equipment needed for each assignment.
 Assisted with Coil Tubing, Nitrogen Lifting and Wireline rig ups and rig downs.
 Operated on well clean up operations Onshore & Offshore
 Took regular interval readings from the well for reports
 Ensured all job files and readings where submitted to supervisors on shift changes
 Ensured safe , technically correct and efficient operations of company readings in the field.
 Acted as a Senior Company representative during field operations and liaised with client field representatives to communicate accurate and efficient well readings.
