TITLE: Automatic Fastener Thread Assessment and Sorting Machine

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project requires the detection of defects of nuts and bolts by inspecting the internal threads present in it. The defective threadings can result in accidents and loss of life and property. There is no automated mechanism for detection of detects of nuts and bolts in India. We are implementing the project using a hardware set up requiring the usage of high resolution camera, Interfacing hardwares, DC motors, and its run on software called NI LabVIEW 2011 and Vision Development module Toolkit.

TITLE: Surface Roughness (Ra) Determination by Optical Methodology
SOFTWARE : LabVIEW
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The purpose of this project is to design a proof-of-concept device for non- invasive measurement of Ra.The specimen whose roughness is to be estimated is passed under a shorter wavelength light source and measuring the intensity of the reflected or scattered light from the surface captured using optoelectronic sensor. The intensity value is used to find the surface roughness (Ra).
