I’m currently employed as Shift Supervisor with Poly Olefins Unit 24 Ethylene plant and Unit 70, Propylene Purification in Secunda, South Africa.

1997-2001 Sasol Polymers Ethylene and Propylene Purification Units 280, 288, 285 –Secunda, South Africa.
• Acted as shift manager for all units.
• Commissioning and start-up of Unit 288 in 1999 with Linde start-up team (led by Franz Schultz).

2001-2007 Sasol Polymers Ethylene, Cracking and Propylene Purification units 24 and 70 Secunda South Africa.
• Handling classroom training for newly appointed employees (25 new employees in 2006).
• Writing of new training material and updating of modules for Training Department.
• Handling of work permit system and safety systems.
• Obtained NQF level 4, and was appointed as Specialist and later as Master Process Artisan after MOC (up to mechanical handover) was done on a phase separation system resulting in company savings.
• Obtained fully rated (5/5) merit awards for 2005-2007.

2007-2011 Sipchem Acetyls Production- Jubail Saudi Arabia. Duties and examples thereof included:
• Training of colleagues (class room training) at European Centre Fanateer, Jubail for 4 months.
• Compiling of commissioning packages, and standard operating procedures for start-up of complex.
• Technical support for Emerson (DCS graphic development).
• Training department from July 2008 till December 2008 to implement a CBT (computer based training) system for the Acetyls training program for simulator and level progression (up to step-up supervisor).
• Commissioning activities for Reactor/flash train section consisting of coordination of all activities ranging from construction, pre-commissioning and test runs of equipment assisted by vendors, project team and specialists.
• Selected member of procedure writing team to compile detailed decontamination, isolation plans and shutdown documentation for all equipment on the Acetic Acid plant.(June 2010 to March 2011)

2011 to current: Sasol Polymers Ethylene, Cracking and Propylene Purification units 24 and 70 Secunda South Africa. Duties and examples thereof included:
• Currently Shift Supervisor for Unit 70 and Unit 24. Handling of permit system, preparing equipment for statutory maintenance and new projects. Timekeeping and Personal Development Plans for shift of 11 people.
• Operation of Ethane cracking/Ethylene plant, shutdown, start-up and other operation duties for Unit 24 Sasol Secunda South Africa.
