Project Engineer

After 4 years in a project engineering environment, I am currently looking for an opportunity to develop my career in the offshore oil and gas industry.

PROJECT ENGINEER at National Oilwell Varco, Coatbridge
January 2014 – Current

In my current role I am in charge of leading project teams to the successful completion of projects relating to the design, supply and commissioning of engineering equipment for the offshore oil and gas industry. I ensure that all engineering work is carried out in accordance with specifications, appropriate standards, rules and regulations and any other contractual requirements. My main focus is always on safety and operability.

PROJECT MANAGER at Scaled Energy Ltd, Edinburgh
October 2010 – April 2013

Having started in this role while I was still at university, this was a fantastic opportunity to kick-start my career. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, I was afforded a great deal of freedom with regards to the way I managed my time and my clients. I was in charge of my own wind turbine installation projects from design phase through to installation and commissioning. Being responsible and accountable for the success of each project, I took great care in ensuring that deadlines and budgets were met.

RENEWABLE ENERGY CONSULTANT at Integr8 Renewable Energy, Warwick
May 2010 – August 2010

Being an intern for this company, I was mainly responsible for preparing the company for government accreditation for the installation of heat pumps and solar PV systems. Over the summer, I improved my knowledge of these two renewable energy systems and learnt how to prepare site assessments, financial assessments for project viability and energy generation estimates for various different site-types. I also assisted our technicians on-site during installations, as part of my field engineering training.

I hold a 2:1 BSc Honours in Civil Engineering.

I am a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM). I hold my certification with the Project Management Institute.

. I am a graduate civil engineer with 4 years of experience in the field of project management, looking to move my career out of the office. As you will see from my CV, I am highly motivated and eager to explore new opportunities. My previous experience has taught me to conduct myself in a professional manner and I possess many of the skills that make me successful in the office environment. I am now looking to expand my knowledge and experience.
