In the past few years, I’ve worked at various organizations and have accumulated a solid background in systems design and development.

My qualifications:

• Developed a custom SCADA system targeted for the manufacturing industry; an autonomous pick and place solution for the identification and separation of defective biscuits on a conveyor belt; individually developed -> a VB6 remote control application -> a C++ (Python Wrapper) application to telnet from Windows to Linux -> a C++ console application to write and retrieve data from a MS SQL Server database while processing live video images using OpenCV image processing algorithms (synchronous operations); please visit http://www.eng.uwaterloo.ca/~h2qazi/ for more information
• Development experience on an Energy Metering device using Texas Instruments’ MSP line of microcontrollers -> developed bit-banging logic to write to the LCD controller & implemented the I2C protocol to write to the EEPROM -> initialized controller peripheral setup (i.e Internal/External clock setup, GPIO setup, etc.)
• I have a thorough understanding of Feedback Control Systems and have extensively worked with Matlab (for simulation purposes) and LabVIEW (for actual integration and testing purposes). Additionally, at various stages of a design cycle, I have utilized design and simulation platforms such as AutoCAD (hardware component design) and SolidWorks (hardware component modeling and analysis – FEA and DOF)
• I have 5 years in total of software development experience. This includes development of local (C++, VB, .NET and WPF) applications, web applications (ASP .NET and PHP) and embedded micro controller programming (Assembly Language and C). These 5 years also include relational database experience (MS Access, MS FoxPro and MS SQL Sever) with roles ranging from database administrator, database designer and database programmer (SSIS, SRRS, query design and stored procedures)
• I have undertaken courses in Power, Controls, Fluids, Thermodynamics, Robot Manipulators, Mechanisms and Structures, Digital Logic, Sensors and Instrumentation, MEMS, Real-Time Operating Systems, PLC programming and many other pertinent fields
