Having started off in Banking and Accounting sectors from 1973 to 1976, I pursued the Freight industry till 1981. This was when I joined the procurement and contract administration sections in the Mining Civil, Construction, Petro- chemical and Water treatment sectors. Gaining valuable experience in the civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and electronic spectrums.
O major projects it included capital items like earthmoving equipment, crushing and screening plants, vehicles, mining equipment, conveying plant and bulk material handling plants as well as rotating equipment and bulk piping and fittings, valves and control and monitoring systems.
Bulk commodity requirements like fuels, lubricants, cement and aggregate. The companies involved also exposed me to the forwarding, shipping, clearing and local transportation requirements for imports and export markets, while affording me to work closely with contract administration, claims both inwards and outwards with clients and contractors .Escalation claims and getting a good understanding on FIDIC , NEC and GCC Conditions.
Having held managerial positions, management and contract reporting as well as client/supplier negotiations are essential as is responsibility, accountability and traceability.
