Evaluation and generation of geological models through the Interpretation of seismic data in integrated geological studies, for Exploration and Production

I am Geophysical Engineer specialist in interpretation and evaluation of 2D and 3D seismic data. I have 37 years of experience in the Oil industry. I have participated in regional geological studies and integrated reservoir studies. The geological studies include fields from Venezuela, Colombia and Mexico. In Venezuela I participated in studies of all Venezuelan petroleum basins (basin of Maracaibo Lake, Eastern basin, including Orinoco oil belt and Barinas-Apure basin). In Colombia I have generated exploratory prospects in fields of Eastern Cordillera of Colombia. In México I participated in seismic interpretation in the project “Initial Characterization and Delimitation of Tekel field”, located in Southeast Marine Region of gulf of México.

I am currently involved, in multidisciplinary studies of VCD methodology, (Visualization, Conceptualization and Definition), for PEMEX E & P. The VCD is based on FEL methodology, (Front End Loading). This methodology optimizes the design of wells to minimize risk in drilling and reach the objective to be drilled. In this activity I evaluate: seismic data, seismic interpretation and velocity models. I also give support in the interval velocities analysis for the geomechanical model.

I have generated exploratory prospects and well locations for E & P in different tectonic environments: passive, compressive and salt tectonic regimes, in the Gulf of México. I make well-seismic calibration, by generating synthetic seismograms and velocity model. With the velocity model I make the conversion of the interpreted horizons from time to depth. In the generation of Structural and Stratigraphic maps I also use the seismic attribute analysis. I have trained staff in seismic interpretation. In the seismic interpretation I mostly use Landmark platform. I also use Petrel to show seismic sections and templates showing the velocity analysis. I am Geophysical Engineer graduated from Central University of Venezuela in 1977.
