Career Objective
Senior Risk Consultant within the the field of oil and gas industry
Professional Experience
I have a great pleasure to mention that I have over five years of experience within the field of risk management in offshore oil and gas industry. I am currently working as a senior consultant at Lloyd’s Register Consulting - Energy AS in Norway and mainly involve with Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA), technical safety and computational modeling of fire and explosion accidents in offshore installations. I have been involved with number of projects related to the fire and explosion risk analysis and relief gas dispersion. The consequences of potential offshore fire and explosion hazards have been investigated using computational fluid dynamics software, Kameleon FireEx (KFX) and FLame ACceleration Simulator (FLACS). Significant part of the work has been devoted for the three dimensional modeling of offshore platforms. I have also been contributed significantly to the quantitative risk analysis, technical safety, fire integrity analysis and internal research and development projects within the company. In addition, I have performed number of qualitative and quantitative risk assessments, including HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA, ALARP, and fault tree and event tree analysis. I have also worked with fire integrity and passive fire protection studies for offshore platforms. My educational background in flow assurance and experience in OLGA simulations allows me to analyze hydrocarbon leaks from deep-water risers. I firmly believe that my skills, qualifications and experience within the field of risk assessment in offshore oil industry would make me a terrific fit for the intended position.
Eductation
I completed my PhD degree on flow assurance at Telemark University College/Norwegian University of Science and Technology. My PhD dissertation mainly focused on the multiphase flow applications in offshore pipelines. The main objective of my research was to understand some of the fundamental properties of oil-water flow in horizontal and inclined pipelines. Modern experimental techniques, PIV and radiation attenuation measurements have been extensively used for the characterization of complex oil-water flow applications. I have also focused on developing Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) models for oil-water flow applications. My research work has been published in several international journals.
I have completed my Master of Science degree on process technology in 2007.
I completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical and Process engineering at University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.
