Professional Experience
Working within the Subsea department as a Subsea Engineer (MUX) maintaining the Cameron U and Hydril 15K 18-3/4 Compact Ram BOP and associated equipment. Updating PMS, collating technical information and maintaining documentation. The rectification, fault diagnosis, modification and pressure testing of the BOP including building HP test procedures and monitoring and recording test results using the IPT system and conventional chart recorders. Overhauling and repairs on electro-hydraulic components and fluid mixing unit (Hydril). Strip for 5 yearly overhaul Shafer annular, replace packers and function and test. Function test and fault diagnose Hydril MUX system. Manufacture of hydraulic flexible hoses and rigid pipelines including pressure and leak testing. The use and operation of hydraulic test equipment and Hydril test bench, interpretation and application of technical data, engineering drawings and maintenance procedures. 5 yearly strip and rebuild of Control Flow 120K dual riser Tensioners. Service and Replace Olmstead Rimac valve Assy. Operate and maintain Romar SJ fluid management system.
Run and pull stack as required by client.
Operate and maintain Hydril BOP Fluid mixing and Pump units.
Shipyard (South Africa), remove old Cameron U BOP and install new Hydril 15K 18-3/4 Compact BOP.
Carry out commissioning post installation function and pressure tests.
Replace shear and casing rams to upgraded 5K specifications.
Install new polyflex hoses
Remove and install bonnets and fluid hingesFault find and repair commissioning defects on BOP. Modify as required.
Compile certs records for new BOP and associated equipment
Pressure testing of BOP, Choke and Kill manifold and Safety valves TIW and Grey.
Chart recording results of pressure tests.
Install new Oceaneering Rigid conduit Manifold complete with Deadman system and run new Hydraulic pipe work to tie in with existing.
Stand in as Senior Subsea, plan, run and delegate tasks. Update records and liaise with the Client as required. Plan Rig moves and implement riser analysis for water depths. Ensure spares on hand for upcoming tasks and order as required. Compile detail handover notes to ensure continuity during crew changes.
Following and implementing the safety culture of Client and Employer. Mentoring and leading by example. Time Out for Safety, START cards.

Licentiateship City & Guilds Aeronautical Engineering (Similar to NVQ Level 4)Educated to O’ level standard.
