Professional Experience
- Fire-Fighting : My position in the Oil & Gas sector has lead to myself gaining experience in working with deluge systems, maintaining all firefighting equipment onboard my installation (Fire hoses, B.A. bottles inspection & refilling, Extinguishers, Fire main pumps and pipe lines). Also as Night Barge Engineer my role is OSMIC (On Scene Man In Charge), overseeing / in command of 2 x fire teams and their fire team leaders. I have completed training courses in Fire-fighting and Advanced Fire-fighting.
- Safety : I have previously been the Marine Safety Representative onboard.
I actively participate and encourage / train my work colleagues on Risk Assessments and Management of change, Safe Working Practices, Specific Procedures & Stop / Focus safety systems. Myself and Toolpusher conduct pre-tour meetings to ensure all are aware of their duties and tasks prior to commencing their tour. Also part of my duties include making sure all crews are up to date with their training. As BCO & Night Barge Engineer duties include upkeep of all safety equipment (Fire & Lifesaving). FRC Coxswain.
- Permit To Work : For up to 15 years now i have been actively invovled as PIC and Area Responsible Supervisor for PTW & EIC. I also have the same amount of time with constructing Risk Assessments for various tasks (new & those in need of revision / update). Conduct work site Audits / Inspections before and after jobs.
- Rigmoves : As mentioned previously, in my time offshore in the North Sea, Indonesia, Singapore & Australia as Ballast Contol Operator (8+ years) & progressing to Night Barge Engineer (6+ years), I have gained extensive experience in passing / receiving Tow Bridles, Ballasting / De-Ballasting. Running & Retrieving Anchors, working with Anchor Chain & Mooring Wires. Co-ordinating with Tow / Anchor handling vessels, Surveryors, Tow masters & OIM.
- Deck Management : Supervision of Deck Crews (Crane-ops and roustabouts) & all service partners. Supervision of loading / offloading cargo from vessels. Co-ordinating with service partners & various departments on prioritising crane lifts.
- Maintenance : Responsible for all areas marine & safety related. Monitor, Inspect & supervise change out of washed valves, corroded pipe-work, cranes, winches, tuggers, decking / grating, bulk hoses for offloading and backloading from Supply vessels.
