Additional Information
M.S. Project Summary: A Glycol is a class of organic compound belongs to family related to alcohol, in other means two hydroxyl groups close to carbon atoms and simply this term of glycol applied to ethylene group which belonging to glycol (CH2) n (OH) 2.Natural gas consists mostly of methane gas but don’t forget the small quantities like ethane, butane, pentane, and also heavier hydrocarbon elements such as sulphur and sometimes helium and nitrogen. In order to get rid of these impurity process known as dehydration can be done by absorption process, and this can be done by using tri-ethylene glycol.
Why tri-ethylene glycol should be used
Because reconcentrates at 340-400⁰F because of high boiling point and decomposition for high purity. Molecular formula and structure of tri ethylene glycol is
HOCH2CH2OCH2CH2OCH2CH2OH.
