Head-Technology Initiatives, Lead-Concept Engineer (Process)

To be responsible for process and process safety designs of offshore and onshore green and brown field developments including gas treatment.

• Expertise in major Offshore topsides and subsea pipelines and Onshore Oil and Gas and Hydraulic Projects covering UK, Norwegian, Canadian, Russian and Middle Eastern oil and gas fields including team management, FEED Management and techno-commercial operations within cost parameters specifically the options and use of chemicals for offshore oil and gas production
• Process specialist for medium size to mega projects during Feasibility/Conceptual Studies, Front End Engineering Design (FEED), Basic & Detailed Engineering including materials and chemicals selection based on sampling and production chemistry, safety area classification, SIL & FMEA/FTA studies, Reliability and Availability analysis, IRPA determination, gas drying and sweetening, NGL & LPG extraction, extracted water treatment, black start-up, hook up, pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup, escape route plan and so on
• Proficient in managing & directing operations including maximising profits & minimising expenses and implementing quality improvement techniques
• Implementing Quality Management System and ensuring adherence to the same while ensuring compliance of various quality measures
• Maintaining coordination with cross functional departments for smooth functioning and accomplishing projects as per client’s requirement & organizational guidelines
• Spearheading value analysis/ value engineering & other continuous improvements in processes and innovating new process concepts for production optimization & yield improvement

• Ph.D. in Gas Path Diagnostics for Compressors from Department of Power & Propulsion, Cranfield University in 2012 (attained while employed)
• M.Sc. (Petroleum Engineering) from Imperial College, London, and (DIC) of Royal School of Mines in 1989
• B.E. (Chemical Engineering) from University of Teesside in 1988 with Honours

• IChemE Chartered Engineer from Institute of Chemical Engineers, London in 1999

• Accountability for key process and process safety position in projects ranging from Pre-Concept to Detailed Design of offshore facilities including working 15 years in Qatar in the Major Projects Department on project works such as Bul Hanine Arab C (highly sour gas condensate field) project (with Worley Qatar) between 2000 to 2004 and 2010 to 2015 on the Bul Hanine Redevelopment (with Total France) involving re-development/development of six brown & green fields offshore followed by sweetening onshore and reinjection inclusive of extensive waste treatment and flow assurance for the major pipelines conveying multiphase fluids with high hydrate formation temperature. Also studied upset conditions and line packing and de-packing scenarios in order to establish the operation philosophy. The work included extensive HSE assessment, Hazid, Hazop works as well as determination of IRPA (individual Risk Per Annum),
• Responsible for a multi billion dollars hydraulic development of one of the largest networks of Carbon Steel & GRP pipelines in the world to date in Ras Laffan Industrial City (RLC) in Qatar ensuring 100% supply availability of cooling medium (over a million m3 of cooling water) to a large number of end users by VSDS pumps.
• Subsea experience gained by working in JP Kenny in Scotland and Norway previously. The work included modelling the safe operational envelop of MOL carrying one quarter of UK total offshore oil production at the time,
