Drilling Engineer / Drilling Supervisor with 21 years of oilfield experience.

Positions held have included Drilling / Well Engineer, Night Drilling Supervisor, Directional Driller, Drilling Optimization Engineer, MWD / LWD, Formation Pressure Evaluation and Surface Logging.

Fully competent well engineer capable of taking drilling projects through all stages from initial design through operations to handover and close out.

Excellent leader, both in the office environment and at the rig site, fully capable communicator at all levels with a high level of computer literacy.

Equally at home both working with the latest oilfield technology and using the tried and tested methods employed within the industry.

Worked with all rig types and on a wide variety of drilling projects. This has included Deep Water drilling, HPHT, Extended Reach Drilling (ERD), Wildcat Exploration, Geothermal and Slim Hole drilling.

Extensive experience of working under difficult conditions in remote locations and have always enjoyed working with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds.

Excellent ability to analyse drilling related issues, to provide answers and to improve operational efficiency.

A strong focus on rig-site and well safety. Fully familiar with Permit To Work systems, Job Risk Assessments, Time Out For Safety, STOP / START / FOCUS and other similar safety card reporting systems. Experience of performing rig safety audits and of conducting weekly, daily, pre-tour and pre-job safety and operational meetings. Experience of Simultaneous Operations including Drilling, Testing, Stimulation, Production, Air and Marine operations. Familiar with Environmental Discharge Reporting and understand the importance of accepting environmental responsibility. Recognize the importance of co-ordinated Emergency Response plans and the need to react according to plan should the need arise. Experience of high H2S drilling environments.

1992 Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree with 2(i) Honours in Mining Engineering from Camborne School of Mines, Cornwall, England.

A wide variety of industry drilling and engineering courses.

2014 IWCF Well Control – Level 4 (Old Supervisor Level), Combined Surface and Subsea BOP (valid to August 2016).

2014 Basic and Further Offshore Emergency Training (valid to February 2018 for all European waters).

A well trained drilling professional.
