Boiler maker

A boilermaker is a trained craftsman who produces steel fabrications from plates and sections. I have been working in the shipbuilding and engineering industries where iron and steel are used as a construction material.

1. ARCRITE ENGINEERING (June – August 2016)

Appointed as: Boiler maker

Duties included:
a) Read and fabricated from drawings
b) Manufactured conveyors that went to diamond companies
c) Develop pipe to pipe sections from drawing to scale
d) Manufactured stainless steel and mild steel tanks from drawings
e) Manufactured structural trusses and staircases for buildings from drawings
f) Site work - Installation of galvanized staircases



2. GRI WINDSTEEL SOUTH AFRICA (January – June 2016)

Appointed as Boiler maker

Duties included:
a) Boiler making duties
b) Operating flange machine

3. DAMEN SHIPYARD (March 2015– June 2015)

Appointed as: Boilermaker

Duties included:
a) Pressure tested all tanks on vessel for leaks
b) Work on accommodation deck
c) Worked on wheelhouse
d) Work in construction part of workshop on the steel structure of the vessel


4. ARCRITE ENGINEERING (March 2013 – February 2015)

Appointed as: Apprentice Boilermaker and Boilermaker

Duties included:
a) Read and fabricated from drawings
b) Manufactured conveyors that went to diamond companies
c) Develop pipe to pipe sections from drawing to scale
d) Manufactured stainless steel and mild steel tanks from drawings
e) Manufactured structural trusses and staircases for buildings from drawings
f) Site work - Installation of galvanized staircases

5. EME ENGINEERING ( June 2012 – February 2013)

Appointed as: Casual worker

Duties included:
a) Fitting and turning on laid machines
b) Drilling holes of 30 diameters
c) Fabricated front and rear scoops for bulldozers

6. ALONZO ALUMINIUM (January 2012 – June 2012)

Appointed as: Casual worker

Duties included:
a) Assist in manufacture and installation of aluminium windows and door frames
