• Review the shop drawings and specifications for all the welding, NDT testing, surface preparation
• Perform fit-up and dimension inspection and monitor all stages of welding and final visual welding inspection.
• To control and verify welding consumable and welder , welding operators certificate.
• Witness NDT such as UT, MT, and PT performed by NDT companies.
• welder qualification certificates, non-destructive testing (NDT) procedures, qualification of NDT personnel, work instructions, repair method statement etc.
• Ensure the welder is qualified for that job and using the applicable WPS.
• Ensure that welding parameters are according to the approved welding procedure.
• Ensure that the welding machines are calibrated.
• Maintain the daily weld log and welding summary.
• Coordinate with third party inspection agency and client , sub-contractor and supplier.
• Assess defects as to either repairing, Re-welding should be monitored.Re-inspect completed repair
• Carry out any necessary repairs and Control of distortion
• Repair procedure and welding code should be authorised.Defect area should be marked positively and clearly.
• Check when partially removed and fully removed (visual and NDT).and prepare compile inspection reports.
