Professional Experience
Four years on a >$2b new build chemical site in Zhangjiagang China. Responsible for (part) the design, construction, commissioning, start-up and improvements to a number of chemical plants and a top tier COMAH site.
Managed a number of different contractor services including two national protective coatings, a scaffold, high pressure jetting and insulation companies.
Main responsibility was for the protective coatings on all project, revenue and painting programme.

I was selected to be a key member of a team responsible for the successful and construction, commissioning, training, start-up and safe running of various chemical plants including an incinerating with energy recovery, waste water treatment and tank farms on a new >$2b chemical site in Zhanjiagang, China. Six Sigma black belt trained, I let a team to implement a number of safety / operational improvements.
My current position is site services co-ordinator, mainly responsible for all protective coatings on site including project work, revenue and site painting programme (NACE 2 qualified). I also am also responsible for scaffolding, insulation, jetting and standbys.
I have extensive experience of operating complex DCS controlled chemical manufacturing plants, preparing plants for maintenance and TAR, writing Permit To Work and Hot Work permits. SAP user.
As a result of a recent takeover and major global downsizing Dow Corning have informed me that my role no longer exists and I will be one of the 115 people being made redundant at the Barry site, finishing today.
