Project Engineer - Rob Gotch

To gain work experience as a Project Engineer in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) under a globally recognized oil and gas company.

- Just under three (3) years experience working as a project engineer for an EPC which services the largest energy clients in Canada
- Successfully executed pipeline, well site, and facilities jobs in both lead and a support roles
- Effectively designed and managed the procurement and construction of several packages including flare stacks, flare knockout drums, API 650 tanks, and more
- Checked and prepared many project critical documents including request for quote (RFQ) scope of works, design basis memorandums (DBM), project execution plans (PEP), and other various engineering work packages (EWP)
- Experience in process and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) design
- Experience in mechanical isometric sketching / design
- Experience in manual valve selection with a good working knowledge of elastomer seals as demanded by Canada's often sour and low temperature environment
- Experience in quickly turning around Requests for Information (RFI) from construction
- Experience in engineering design with highly sour (high H2S) applications
- Internally managed and coordinated engineering disciplines to meet tight budget and schedules
- Experience in cost estimating all sizes of projects
- Good working knowledge of North American codes such as CSA, API, and ASME

Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Oil & Gas Engineering from the University of Calgary in Calgary (Alberta, Canada).

Master of Management (MM) from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada) - 3.4 GPA

Registered as an Engineer in Training (EIT) in both British Columbia (APEGBC) and Alberta (APEGA).

With the help of my multi-disciplinary background in both business management and petroleum engineering, I've been able to quickly progress from an entry level graduate position to the lead project engineer on over five (5) ongoing projects which range from $250,000 to $20,000,000 CAD total installed cost.

My greatest attribute is my undeniable work ethic and commitment to the job. I'm able to take on work loads that well exceed that of my peers and successfully execute projects both on time and on budget. I'm very comfortable setting up and leading design review meetings, HAZOP/PHA's (for smaller projects), and any other various client / vendor meetings.

I am looking for the opportunity to relocate from the Greater Vancouver area in British Columbia, Canada, to one of the oil and gas capitals of the world in the United Arab Emirates.
