Senior Subsea Engineer

Versatile and committed Subsea Engineer who follows projects through to completion 18+ years industry experience in the development of subsea oil and gas projects and onshore oil and gas / pharmaceutical and bulk chemical projects

Lead engineer experience through all phases of development including Concept development / economics, FEED, FID, detailed design and execution including:
Technical and commercial management of subsea hardware contracts including tendering, evaluation and award (Wellhead, Trees, Subsea and Topside Controls, Flexible, Umblical, Diverless tie-in systems)
10 years’ experience as lead engineer based in supplier manufacturing centres for the delivery of subsea XT’s, manifolds, coolers, completion equipment, subsea control modules (SCM), tie-in systems and intervention systems through engineering, procurement, manufacture, testing / SIT’s, delivery and load-out.
Company lead engineer for site receival testing, offshore mobilisation and installation from the rig.
Technical and commercial management of rig service contracts including tendering, evaluation, award and delivery of Landing String, Tree / WOCS, ROV and Controls scope
Develop operator specific procedures associated for equipment SRT and offshore installation / testing including overall system pre-commissioning and start-up (handover to Ops groups)
Technical interface with Drilling / Completion departments to develop drilling and completion plans to prevent offshore delays and improve preparation and execution. CWOP and DWOP participation
Offshore experience in a range of roles including Tree Installation (Completions) and Offshore Installation, Hook-up and Commissioning of SPS equipment from specialised installation vessels.
Technical and commercial management of subsea installation contracts including tendering, evaluation and award (EPIC and operator issued hardware)
Engineering, manufacture, testing, delivery and installation of flexibles, umbilicals, fibre optic cables, subsea connectors, flying leads and tie-in spools
Significant experience working as part of a team interfacing in a lead role with Drilling and Completion departments including DWOP, CWOP and other key activities prior to offshore mobilisation.
Participation in HSE reviews including CHAZOP, HAZOP and project risk assessments
Strong focus on HSE / Quality / Schedule and Cost risk assessment and management measures to protect company from project risks.
Good understanding of relevant Oil and Gas standards (ISO, API, Norsok, DNV) and recommended practices.

BEng Mech (Honours) 1999, University of Limerick, Ireland
National Diploma (Distinction) in Construction Management & Contract Administration 2002, Cork Institute of Technology, Ireland (Completed by evening classes)
