Project Manager / Project Control Specialist

I am available immediately for any Project Management or Project Control related position. Contract or full time will be considered.

I have 20 years’ experience in international and South African engineering, procurement and construction projects within the energy and mining sectors, including power generation, power delivery and heavy structural steel building development.

As a project manager, I have been involved in multiple projects from initiation to closeout, with extensive experience in PMBOK procedures. As a cost engineer (project control specialist), I am responsible for financial modelling, budget development and cost estimating, cost and scheduling control, earned value calculation, claim evaluations, project invoicing and client reporting on a variety of projects.

In addition to the three profe3ssional certifications I hold, I am a qualified designer with 10 years practical experience. I completed my BCom Degree through the University of South Africa with Specialization in Management.

I completed various short and post grad courses in Project Management, Advanced Construction Contracts, Quality (ISO 9001) and various software programs.

Currently I am busy with completing my CIMA Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) qualification

I hold two cost certifications, Certified Cost Professional (CCP) and Earned Value Professional (EVP), through AACE International (AACEi), as well as a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification through the Project Management Institute (PMI).

I am a self-starter that can work independently but enjoy being part of a team. My experience in project types range from operational type projects to greenfield and brownfield construction projects where I was involved from initiation to closeout. I have information regarding selected project experience available upon request.

Outside of work I currently serve as the President of the South African section of AACEi and published a paper in 2019 titled “Earned Value Challenges in Projects with Different Project and Functional Currencies” which was presented at the AACEi Annual Conference in New Orleans, USA.
