I am responsible for the following job description at the plant, viz;
• Responsible for installing, managing, calibration & maintenance of all types of field instruments, including Pressure, Flow transmitters, Level transmitters, Temperature transmitters and several types of gauges etc.
• Responsible for troubleshooting issues related to Control Valves, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Distributed Control Systems (DCS) by overseeing the maintenance and troubleshooting of these instrumentation equipment to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
• Carried out maintenance on control systems like Emerson Delta V DCS, Siemens PCS 7 DCS, and
Allen-Bradley PLC etc.
• Monitor and maintain compliance with safety standards and practices.
• I worked with Process Engineers to maintain and modify existing control systems during normal operations and during scheduled plant shutdown by providing instrumentation engineering support.
• I provided specifications and installation guidelines for instruments and instrumentation systems ensuring compliance with established engineering standards.
• I Provided input into P&ID (piping and instrumentation diagrams) to reflect field changes.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation systems, while collaborating with Maintenance on assessment, design and implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance programs and reliability improvement programs for instrumentation.
• Supervised loop checks prior to commissioning.
• Acted as first- line fire fighter at my assigned area and conversant on the operation of various types of fire extinguishers. Also acquainted with usage of breathing apparatus.
• Continuously monitor process data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
• Generate reports on process performance, instrument status, and compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Ensure that all instrumentation complies with industry standards and safety regulations.
