Minister of Finance Momtaz al-Saeed announced on 31/12/2011 that the new prices of energy that is used in heavy industries and the maximum wages in the state administrative body will be applied as of January 2012.
Speaking at a press conference, al-Saeed said the prices of steel, cement and ceramics will rise by 33%. The mechanism to apply maximum wages, due in January, will achieve a surplus in the state budget, al-Saeed said. There is no increase in the price of gas or any other petroleum product, he added. |
