The Stock Exchange rose 1.59 percent to gain LE 2.9 billion at the close of the 2012 first trading session amid optimistic feelings over the new year. The EGX30 benchmark index rose 1.59 percent to 3679.96 points.
The broader EGX 70 index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SME) bounced by 0.77 percent to 418.80 points. The all-embracing EGX 100 index followed suit with 1.3 percent taking the index up to 651.53 points. |
