Jamal Nasser Al Suwaider, acting Executive Director of Emirates News Agency (WAM) and of External Information Department, discussed with Bashir Za'abiya, Director General of Libya News Agency (LNA), prospects for media cooperation and news exchange. Al Suwaider is accompanying UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr. Anwar Mohammed Gargash during his visit to Libya which concluded.
During the meeting, which took place at the LNA headquarters, WAM's model for delivering diverse packages of news services were reviewed. The two sides concurred on the importance of providing assistance and support for correspondents in both countries. Za'abiya welcomed WAM official to LNA, commending his visit as the first by an Arab top media personality since LNA was opened following the Libyan revolution in October 2011. He paid tribute to the government and people of the UAE for their support during the 17th February revolution. He also expressed LNA's desire to boost joint cooperation and tap WAM and LNA expertise through news exchange. Al Suwaider invited the LNA chief to visit WAM and acquaint himself with the diverse news services it provides to customers. Za'abiya thanked Al Suwaider for the initiative, lauding it as the first Arab and international news agency to express readiness to cooperate with LNA. |
