Oman and Sudan discussed the deep-rooted fraternal relations and the major attention accorded by the governments in both countries to enhance bilateral co-operation. Rahmatallah Mohammed Othman, Under-Secretary of the Sudanese Foreign Affairs Ministry, and his delegation yesterday visited the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) during which they met officials, OCCI Board members and businessmen.
The meeting also covered the development of bilateral trade and investment, exchange of expertise and activating co-operation between the Omani and Sudanese private sectors and how they can contribute in funding projects, besides touching on investment requirements in different fields. During the meeting, Ayman bin Abdullah al Hasani, Deputy Chairman of OCCI, referred to the Oman-Sudan Business Council, which aims at encouraging the private sector, advising the visiting delegation on the investment environment and utilising the investment opportunities in agricultural and animal wealth sectors in both the countries. He stressed the importance of activating the council to be an investment window that benefits businessmen in the two countries, enhancing economic relations and increasing the size of business among them. Othman stressed the importance of increasing bilateral trade and utilising investment opportunities. He pointed out that the laws in Sudan are encouraging for the growth of investments. He invited Omani businessmen to take part in trade exhibitions in Sudan as they are important means to introduce investment potentials and meeting their counterparts. |
