Sidi Kreir Petrochemicals company (SIDPEC) has signed an agreement to export 30 thousands tons of polyethylene to 20 countries with a value of 1100 USD per ton. These countries include Pakistan, Palestine, European countries and Africam markets. The delivery terms will be FOB Alexandria. The exports of this year has exceeded 100 thousands tons with an increase of 25%.
SIDPEC has started constructing a new facility to produce ethylene with annual capacity of 460 thousands tons. A contract has been signed with ABB-Lummus of the US to carry out the basic designs for he project. The company succeeded during the first half of 2005 to increase the production of ethylene by 4% to reach 145.7 thousands tons and polyethylene to 120,369 thousands tons.
