Garments exports in 2012 are projected to increase by 15% to reach $ 2.2 billion, about L.E. 13 billion, above their level in 2011. This was announced by Mr. Mohamed Kassem, Head of the Garments Export Council, assuring that more stress will be put on exports to the US under the QIZ protocol.
The Executive noted that the US market captures more than 50% of Egyptian garments exports. To which extent the above will be affected by the present status of the political relations between both countries that remains to be seen. |
