H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister met here Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi. Salehi welcomed Sheikh Abdullah, stressing his keenness on developing the ties between the two countries. For his part, the UAE FM said during the meeting in which the ties between the two sides were discussed, that the UAE leadership, government and people are keen on developing the relations with Iran in all fields, adding that strong ties could reflect positively on the region in general.
Sheikh Abdullah said, "We are keen in the UAE on more communication at both public and private levels," referring to the Iran's civilisation and historic legacy. Present were Ambassador Tariq Al Haydan, Assistant Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Saif Mohammed Obaid Al Zaabi, UAE Ambassador to Iran, Khamis Al Alka, Director of the GCC Affairs Department at the Foreign Ministry and Mohammed Al Khaja, Adviser at the office of Foreign Minister.
