Minister of Industry and Foreign Trade Dr. Mahmoud Eissa discussed Thursday 08/03/2012 with visiting Georgian counterpart Grigol Vashadze ways to boost economic cooperation and increase bilateral trade between the two countries in the coming stage.
The talks also tackled ways to boos bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields.
Eissa stressed the need for more cooperation between Egypt and Georgia during the transition phase, especially in the areas of industry, renewable energy, small and medium enterprises, advanced training and pharmaceutical products. Minister Eissa stressed the importance of cooperation between the two countries in the field of logistics transport, referring to the important geographical location of Georgia to be a gate allowing the entry of Egyptian exports to the Caucasus and Asian countries, while using Egypt as a gate allowing the entry of Georgian exports to the Arab and African markets. For his part, the Georgian official stressed the need to invest the distinguished political relations between the two countries. He said that there is a possibility for the transfer of Russian wheat exports to Egypt through the Georgian port of Poti to save time and expenses, as well as the transfer of Egyptian exports to Central Asia through the port of Alexandria. |
